Slimming World Update – Week 19

27/11/2013 by MrsSavageAngel Leave a Comment

Morning my lovelies!

Lets not beat about the bush here – last night’s weigh in was fantastic and for so many reasons.

I have been really focussed this week. I explained why I wanted to lose at least 2lb this week and I’ve kept that firmly in my sights all week. Saturday’s trip really helped me to focus, particularly as the dress is now on the back of my wardrobe door. So I can’t tell you how stoked I was to find out I’d lost 4lb this week! That takes me to 3 Stone 5lb (47lb) in total, only 2lb away from my next interim target. Brillo pads!

Technically, I now have two weeks in which to lose the 2lb to take me to my interim target of 3.5 Stone. However when Zoe asked when I felt I could do that by, I rather rashly said by next week! What AM I doing to myself? My nerves wont take it 😉 .

Anyway, group was awesome of other reasons this week. Several people who have been struggling over the past few weeks had fab weight losses – and I’m so pleased for them. Small changes in their habits produced amazing results all in a week, so well done ladies!

We also talked about Christmas. I know it’s only November, but when you’re on a journey like mine, then planning is absolutely the key. Zoe asked what people intended to do over Christmas and whether they were prepared for the fall out that this might bring in the New Year. I decided a long time ago that Christmas Day would be off limits, but as the time gets nearer I have arranged things to be enjoyable but not crazy, because to be honest I’m not sure I could take the fall out – mentally or physically. We are going out for Christmas dinner this year, just Ben, Oscar and me. It wont be low fat but it will be a sensible portion, and more importantly there will be no leftovers! We have decided to get some small pieces of our favourite cheeses for tea and one box of really nice chocolates, instead of a tin full to the brim of chocs I will eat whether I like them or not. Again there will be no leftovers.

Other than that, I plan to cook a ham (syn free and Oscars favourite) for Boxing Day and make loads of salads and crustless quiches. I’ll happily syn my favourite Le Mesurier piccalilli. Don’t get me wrong – there are some things I refuse to forgo – like Baileys in my coffee – it just wouldn’t be Christmas without it. But I couldn’t bare to have to go back to shopping on plus size websites, just because of food choices I’d made over Christmas. Last night’s discussion was already one I’d had with myself, but it was great to hear other people’s view points and get some validation of my own thoughts.

Oh yes I also got Slimmer of the Week AND Slimmer of the Month for November.

Suuuuuweet!

So the plan for the coming week is to lose 2lb and get my 3.5 Stone award. Simples :s Eeek!

Have a great week!

Couldn't have put it better myself!

Slimming World Update – Week 12

09/10/2013 by MrsSavageAngel Leave a Comment

Half a pound
Half a pound

Morning! Well I weighed in yesterday and for the first time in 12 weeks I had a gain. I gained 0.5lb.

Do I know why?

Yes

Am I OK with this?

Absolutely

Do I regret it?

Do I what? Of course not. I had a bloody brilliant time and who is this crazy lady asking me all these questions anyway???

So yeah I had a tiny gain this week and I was completely expecting it, in fact I’m surprised it wasn’t more. I am still on 2 Stone 2.5lb (30lb)

Last Saturday our next door neighbours invited us to a wine tasting evening round theirs. It was fantastic and not just because my amazing friend Emma babysat so we didn’t have to worry about the boy (thank you again petal)! The company running the event bought all the wines and sheets for us to make notes etc. We sat round Tania & Andy’s dining table and supped 15 different wines through the evening. I still don’t like red (sorry guys, I really wanted to but I’m a white girl, preferably anything from the Chardonnay grape), my favourite was a white burgundy, and I learnt so many interesting things about making, tasting and appreciating wine. We then had a gorgeous dinner we cooked ourselves on the hot stone grill. It was just so much fun.

I went knowing I was going to go over my Syns for one night. I didn’t go berserk but my choices were not always the most healthy and it goes to show how much difference one night can make. I worked hard to limit the damage the rest of the week and am glad I did. I hate to think what the gain would have been had I not :s

Anyway, that was last week and now I get to concentrate on this week. I would at least like to lose the 0.5lb I’ve gained this week and maybe 1lb more. There’s 11 weeks until Christmas and I would really like to reach 3.5 stone loss by then. It would be fantastic.

Strike that, it will be fantastic. My favourite mantra at the moment?

Do or don’t do – there is no try!

Oscar’s party was a roaring success. The cousins Oscar’s party was a roaring success. The cousins all came and played together like they were best of friends, the Minecraft themed food was devoured, the castle was bounced to within an inch of its life, the grown ups chatted and most of all the boy had the best day! And now I’m so exhausted I’m off to bed. Thank you to the family (and chosen family) who helped make it such a special day for our special little guy. #whenoscarturnedten #happybirthday #familypartiesarethebest

But 10 man? I don’t know, it feels so… significant. Double digits, a decade, it somehow feels different from all the other birthdays. I can’t quite believe it tbh. Anyway as he’s having his birthday here (tomorrow) but his party in Plymouth next Saturday it has been decreed it’s his birthday all week. And what with the grand age he’s turning, I think that sounds perfectly appropriate.
